Getting a Kuwait driving license is one of the most common goals for Indian expats. The rules are strict — but once you understand exactly what's needed, the process is straightforward.
Key rule for Indians: You need a minimum salary of KD 600/month, a university degree, and at least 2 years of Kuwait residency to apply for a private or general driving license. No shortcuts.

🧮 Indemnity (Gratuity) for Indian Workers in Kuwait
Indians commonly call it "gratuity" — Kuwait law calls it "indemnity". They are the same: your end-of-service benefit under Kuwait Labour Law No. 6 of 2010. You are entitled to this regardless of whether you resign or are terminated.

Maximum cap: Under Article 51 of Kuwait Labour Law, total indemnity is capped at 18 months' salary regardless of years worked. This only affects workers with very long service (20+ years) or very high salaries.

⚖️ Indian Worker Labour Rights in Kuwait
All Indian workers in Kuwait's private sector are protected by Kuwait Labour Law No. 6 of 2010 — regardless of nationality. These rights apply to everyone from senior engineers to domestic workers.

File a complaint with PAM (Public Authority for Manpower) — call 181 or visit in person. PAM mediates between you and your employer and can issue salary payment orders. Simultaneously, you can register a complaint on the MADAD portal (madad.gov.in) for Indian Embassy assistance.

Can I convert my Indian driving license to a Kuwait license?

What happens to my indemnity if I resign from my Kuwait job?
