🤖 Update on Android
- 1Open Google Play Store on your phone.
- 2Tap your profile icon (top right corner).
- 3Tap Manage apps & device.
- 4Tap Updates available and find Sahel in the list.

🍎 Update on iPhone
- 1Open App Store on your iPhone.
- 2Tap your profile icon at the top right.
- 3Scroll down to the Available Updates section.
- 4Find Sahel and tap Update. Also update Kuwait Mobile ID.

ℹ️ Always update Kuwait Mobile ID at the same time as Sahel. Version mismatches between the two apps are the most common cause of login failures after an update.
Set Up Kuwait Mobile ID — Step by Step
Kuwait Mobile ID must be activated before you can log into Sahel. Here is how to set it up from scratch.
📱 Kuwait Mobile ID First-Time Setup
- 1Open Kuwait Mobile ID after installing.
- 2Enter your 12-digit Civil ID number.
- 3Enter your mobile number registered with PACI (this is the number linked to your Civil ID — it must match).
- 4An OTP (one-time password) will be sent to your registered mobile number via SMS. Enter it.
- 5Set a 6-digit PIN. Enable fingerprint or Face ID if your phone supports it.
- 6Kuwait Mobile ID is now active. Open Sahel and log in.
⚠️ If your mobile number is not registered with PACI, the OTP will not arrive. You must update your mobile number at a PACI office first, then set up Kuwait Mobile ID.
Sahel App Won't Download? — Fixes
❌ App not found in store
Search exactly "Sahel Kuwait" or "سهل" — not just "Sahel". Or use the direct links above to go straight to the app page.
❌ Download fails or stuck
Switch from WiFi to mobile data (or vice versa). Restart your phone. Free up storage — you need at least 200MB free space.
❌ App not compatible with device
Your Android must be version 8.0+ and iPhone must be iOS 14+. Update your phone OS first, then try downloading again.
❌ Play Store / App Store region issue
The app is available globally. If blocked, switch your App Store region to Kuwait or UAE temporarily, download, then switch back.
❌ App installs but won't open
Uninstall and reinstall. Make sure Kuwait Mobile ID is installed first. Restart your phone after both installs.
❌ Still not working
Call Wasil Government Help Center: 101 (within Kuwait). Available Sunday–Thursday, 7am–3pm.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I download the Sahel app in Kuwait?▾
Download in this order: (1) Kuwait Mobile ID from Google Play or App Store — search "Kuwait Mobile ID". (2) Then Sahel app — search "Sahel Kuwait" or "سهل". Both are free. Sahel will not work without Kuwait Mobile ID installed first. Use the direct links at the top of this page for fastest access.
What is the latest version of the Sahel app in 2026?▾
The Sahel app is updated regularly by Kuwait MOI — sometimes multiple times per month. To always have the latest version, enable automatic updates on your phone. On Android: Play Store → Profile → Settings → Network preferences → Auto-update apps. On iPhone: Settings → App Store → App Updates (toggle on). The app page on Google Play and App Store always shows the current version number and release notes.
How do I update the Sahel app?▾
On Android: Google Play → Profile icon → Manage apps and device → Updates available → tap Update next to Sahel. On iPhone: App Store → Profile icon → scroll to find Sahel → tap Update. Always update Kuwait Mobile ID at the same time — version mismatches cause login errors.
Can I download the Sahel app outside Kuwait?▾
Yes. The Sahel app is available on Google Play and the App Store worldwide — you do not need to be in Kuwait to download it. You can use it from anywhere to check Civil ID status, view iqama details, and access government services remotely. Some services (like biometric appointments) require physical attendance in Kuwait, but can be booked via the app.
Do I need Kuwait Mobile ID to use Sahel?▾
Yes — it is mandatory. Kuwait Mobile ID handles all login authentication. Every Sahel login sends a notification to Kuwait Mobile ID which you must approve. Without Kuwait Mobile ID, Sahel login fails every time. Both apps are free and published by Kuwait MOI.
My Kuwait Mobile ID OTP is not arriving — what do I do?▾
The OTP is sent to the mobile number registered with PACI for your Civil ID — not necessarily your current number. If you changed your phone number, you must first update it at a PACI office or via the Sahel app (if already logged in). If the number is correct but OTP still doesn't arrive: check for network issues, try a different SIM slot if dual-SIM, or call Wasil on 101.
